As we journey through the Lenten season of giving, World Down Syndrome Day invites CWL members to reflect on the dignity of every human life. Despite growing awareness and support, many children diagnosed with Down syndrome are not given the chance to be born. In Canada, the abortion rate following a diagnosis remains 54%, reminding us of the ongoing need for compassion, education, and advocacy.
The Ontario Provincial Council encourages members to mark March 21 by celebrating the gifts and contributions of people with Down syndrome and by taking simple actions that promote inclusion and a culture of life.
