May 17–24 • Hope in Action
This week, the Ontario Provincial Council of The Catholic Women’s League of Canada joins the global Church in celebrating Laudato Si’ Week 2026, commemorating Pope Francis’ encyclical Laudato Si’ and its call to care for our common home through an integrated vision of faith, creation, and human dignity.

The theme for 2026, Hope in Action, invites us to move from reflection to commitment — choosing one concrete action that expresses our love for God, neighbour, and creation.
As CWL members, we continue to Ignite Your Passion, Empower His Mission by living our faith in practical, hope‑filled ways that strengthen our communities and protect the gift of creation entrusted to us.
🌱 Choose One Concrete Action This Week
Members and councils are encouraged to discern one meaningful step such as:
- Host a prayer service or dialogue on Care for Our Common Home
- Reduce energy use at home or in the parish
- Review purchasing practices with sustainability and stewardship in mind
- Study and implement one of the CWL resolutions connected to creation care and social responsibility
🌎 CWL Resolutions to Explore
These resolutions offer practical pathways for councils to put hope into action:
- 2023.01 Combating Textile Waste in Canada — urging federal programs and subsidies to reduce textile waste
- 2022.01 Enact Federal Legislation to Reduce Food Loss and Waste — calling for national action across agri‑food, industrial, commercial, and institutional sectors
- 2019.02 Canadian Support for the UN Treaty on the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons — urging Canada to sign and ratify the treaty
- 2018.02 Setting a Standard for Products Marketed as “Flushable” — calling for national testing and labelling standards
✨ Together, We Live Laudato Si’
Every small act becomes a spark of hope.
Every spark becomes a witness of faith.
Together, we care for creation — together, we live Laudato Si’.
