World Homeless Day – October 10
Each year, World Homeless Day shines a light on the urgent need for compassion, understanding, and action to support those experiencing homelessness. This international day serves as a platform to celebrate good works, measure progress, and advocate for improved policies and funding that can help prevent and end homelessness.
In Canada, thousands face homelessness every night — many also struggling with mental illness and addiction. The Catholic Women’s League of Canada continues to call attention to this crisis through Resolution 2024.01: Increase Supported Housing for Individuals Experiencing Homelessness with Mental Health and Mental Illness Issues.
As Catholic women, we are called to respond with faith in action — learning, advocating, and serving in our communities.
